Plateau United get morale booster ahead of season opener

Plateau United have been  boosted with the visit of Governor Simon Lalong who also donated a sum of two million naira ahead of their clash with Nasarawa United on Sunday.

The defending champions received Lalong during their training at the Fifa Goal Project, Abuja where they are finalising their strategies in the quest for their title defense.

Recently, Lalong handed out 80 million naira and landed properties to the players and officials of the Peace Boys following their maiden Nigerian league triumph last season.

While reiterating his backing for the team, the Plateau State governor said: "I assure you that I still remain committed to supporting this team and I believe you will be victorious.

“We want you to win trophies and also for some of you to move and play overseas. I will continue to follow the progress of this team and we will do more for you.”

Kennedy Boboye's men will be hoping for a winning start against the Solid Miners, who finished fifth on the log last season, at the Lafia City Stadium.
