One of the biggest games in Paraguayan football exploded into life when the young forward scored a sensational goal

Fernando Ovelar is just 14 years old but he has already created a moment to remember in one of the biggest matches in Paraguayan football.

The 14-year-old forward scored his first goal in professional football as Cerro Porteno drew 2-2 with rivals Olimpia in Paraguay's Division Profesional on Sunday.

The match is a clash between the two most successful clubs in Paraguay, with Olimpia having won 41 titles while Cerro Porteno has captured the league 32 times.

In what was only his second senior appearance, the teenager burst into the penalty area and deftly flicked the ball over onrushing goalkeeper Alfredo Aguilar, sparking wild celebrations among supporters and team-mates.

Ovelar had previously made his debut in Cerro Porteno's 1-1 draw with 3 de Febrero, starting and playing 58 minutes while earning a yellow card in his first taste of professional football.

The forward is  the youngest player to ever play in the Paraguayan top flight, and also the youngest ever scorer in the league

Olimpia levelled the match through Nestor Camacho's first-half strike before late drama at Estadio Defensores del Chaco saw stoppage-time goals at either end and both sides have a player sent off.

The result leaves Olimpia seven points clear of second-place Cerro at the top of the table after 17 games.
