Out-of-favour Sundowns star George Lebese issues Kaizer Chiefs with come and get me plea?

Has Mamelodi Sundowns winger George Lebese issued Kaizer Chiefs with a come and get me plea?

This follows the 29-year-old’s response to a question on Instagram, questioning where the player would like to ply his trade with the exit door seemingly looming.

Since joining Sundowns from Amakhosi, Lebese has endured a difficult time at the Tshwane giants despite his signing seen as homecoming of sorts for the Mamelodi-born playmaker.

However, things seem to have turned even more bleak for Lebese as not only has he been left on the fringes at Chloorkop this season but he has not made a single appearance for the club.

This comes In spite of Sundowns assistant coach Manqoba Mngqithi previously pleading with the player to pull up his socks and earn his place back in the squad.

Recent reports suggest that Lebese has also been left out of Sundowns' Caf Champions League squad, although the club are yet to confirm this.

Nonetheless, Lebese held an ‘ask me a question’ session on his social media account where he was understandably bombarded with questions regarding his future.

Lebese made several hints at a possible move away, none more so than when he suggested that he would like to return to the Glamour Boys.

“Which team do you dream of playing for now that the Sundowns chapter is about to close,” Lebese was asked on Instagram.

“Kaizer Chiefs,” was Lebese’s reply.

With Lebese likely to depart, it now remains to be seen where his next destination will be. But what is certain is that Lebese will need to buy his time as he is still under contract with the former African champions.
