Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic: There is too much at stake against Kaizer Chiefs

Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic says they have to find the right balance between attacking and defending as they face Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto Derby at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The highly anticipated affair at the iconic venue is set to get underway at 15:30 and the Serbian boss drew lessons from their 3-1 win in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) in March this year.

“There is too much at stake. If you are the most attacking coach, the game could go either way. It is a game of waves,” Sredojevic told the media.

On the other hand, Sredojevic reflected on their win last season, saying they must not only focus on attacking.

“I remember last year we played and we had first half 72 percent possession against 28 percent. Total domination, but second half opponent came to us," he aid.

"It means that it's something that is impossible to control. We come with intention to score first and win, but you can score and concede more, so we need to have perfect balance," concluded the coach.

Although, it has been some time since Chiefs last beat Pirates, Sredojevic remains wary of the Glamour Boys, who will be led by Giovanni Solinas for the first time.

In addition, the Buccaneers are set to be without attacker Luvuyo Memela, who netted a brace in their last season's win over Amakhosi.

However, 'Micho' is spoiled for choice as he has the option of replacing the nippy attacker with the likes of Thembinkosi Lorch, Vincent Pule and Augustine Mulenga among others.

For the Naturena-based side, they have received a massive boost following Khama Billiat's availability for the match as he missed their Telkom Knokcout Cup clash against Black Leopards last Sunday through injury.
