On-loan Sundowns striker Bongi Ntuli determined to revive his career at AmaZulu

On-loan Mamelodi Sundowns striker Bongi Ntuli is determined to revive his career as he recently returned to AmaZulu on a season-long loan.

Ntuli joined Usuthu, following his failure to secure a move to Sweden after undergoing trials with Djurgardens.

The 27-year-old returned to South Africa amid much uncertainly despite still being on the books of the Tshwane giants, where he has only made two appearances since joining the Tshwane giants.

Nonetheless, after being given a new lease on life in KwaZulu-Natal, Ntuli is eager to impress and build on the six league goals he previously netted for AmaZulu during his previous stint at the club.

“I am very pleased to be back here at AmaZulu because it is my home team,” The KZN-born attacker told AmaZulu’s official website.

“I also glad to have reunited with Cavin Johnson. That makes me very happy,” he added.

“He likes working with the strikers. I used to do some extra training with him. Doing some finishing drills with him helped me a lot,” he said.

“I am going to score goals here at AmaZulu because it is an attacking team,” Ntuli revealed.

Competition for places will be stiff as AmaZulu still have the veteran duo of Mabhuti Khenyeza and Siyabonga Nomvethe in their ranks, and rather than seeing it as an obstacle in his path, Ntuli is relishing the opportunity to learn from them.

“I am looking forward to working with Khenyeza and Nomvethe. They have been playing for a very long time and they also have a lot of experience,” he said.

“So, I am going to learn a lot from them,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Ntuli will not have long to wait before coming up against his parent club.

AmaZulu have confirmed that the fixture against the league champions which was scheduled for February 20, has been brought forward due to Sundowns’ continental elimination.

The clash which is set to take place at the King Zwelithini Stadium is now set for September 16.

“AmaZulu’s Absa Premiership home fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns has been brought forward to 16 September by PSL following a change in the Brazilian’s continental commitments. The match will be played at King Zwelithini Stadium. Kickoff 15:00,” a statement issued on the club’s website read.

The clash will come only days before AmaZulu then lock horns with a struggling Kaizer Chiefs on September 22.
