The visitors held their nerves and bargained for a result at the U.J Esuene Stadium before they lost pedal thanks to goals from Ikechukwu Ibenegbu, Okonkwo and Stanley Dimgba.
Accoding to the striker, his side never lost faith as they pushed further till they punished the Ikon Allah Boys to secure maximum points.
“It was not an easy match because Tornadoes I must confess came into the tie very prepared,'' Okonkwo told Goal.
''They were able to curtail us from scoring for most part of the first half but we were patient and resilient in our action knowing that goals will come at the right time. The opening goal was the icing on the cake and we were able to get more in the second half.
''The maximum points was important because we have seen it week in week out that another defeat takes us out of the top three while another win quickly restores us back to our previous spot.
''We must continue to do our best to ensure that we remain consistent in the remaining matches of the season knowing that if we manage to remain unbeaten till the end of the season.''
Enyimba are third on the NPFL log with 44 points from 28 games. They face FC Ifeanyi Ubah in their next encounter on Sunday.
