The win saw Highlands increase their lead at the top to nine points. Real Kings jumped back to second spot after beating Richards Bay 1-0. Black Leopards moved to fourth place after earning a 2-0 win over Mbombela United.
On the other hand, promotion hopefuls, Stellenbosch FC and University of Pretoria dropped points against Ubuntu Cape Town and Mthatha Bucks respectively.

AmaTuks ended their match against Bucks with disappointment after Bucks secured an 88th minute equaliser through Uhuru Mwambungu after Zithulele Mhlontlo put AmaTuks in the lead. Black Leopards two goals over their 2-0 win over Mbombela United came thanks to Karabo Tshepe and Mwape Musonda.
In Friday’s solitary game, TTM FC was brought back to earth after they suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of Cape Town All Stars. Strikes by Shaquille Abrahams and Shaheed Abrahams and Mickyle Jackson put TTM FC to the sword and made the home side move within four points of a play-off spot.
Stellenbosch FC endured a 1-1 stalemate against Ubuntu Cape Town in Parow. Iqraam Reyners put the hosts in the lead but Gerome Heutchou-Kuilong gave Ubuntu a precious point that will boost their relegation fight.
In other games, there two 1-1 draws. In the KZN derby between Royal Eagles and Uthonagthi FC, both sides battled to a 1-1 draw. Diyo Sibisi opened the scoring but the Cane Cutters were pegged back after Dillion Solomons equalised for the home team.
Witbank Spurs hopes boosting their promotion hopes took a knock after their 1-1 draw with Super Eagles at Goble Park. Spurs took the lead through Peter Mubayiwa’s finish but Eagles had the last say in the game, and eventually equalised via Modibedi Mokoena’s goal.
