Batoto ba Mungu came into the match as favourites after investing heavily during the just ended June transfer window

Nakumatt FC came from a goal down to win 2-1 against Sofapaka at Ruaraka Grounds thanks to Robert Omunuk's brace.

Batoto ba Mungu came into the match as favourites after investing heavily during the just concluded transfer window, as compared to the shoppers. It was the hosts, who started the match well creating chances, notably a 3rd minute chance that fell to Kepha Aswani, but ex-AFC Leopards player was stopped by the line's man offside flag.

But a few minutes later, goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya was called into action by Peter Nzuki, who unleashed a fierce shot from outside the eighteen yard box. That was a revival for the 2009 league champions, who improved their play and took the lead in the 15th minute. The visitors won a corner that was taken by Bernard Mang'oli, and Ezekiel Okare rose highest to put it past the opponents custodian.

The goal did not kill Nakumatt's morale but it turned out to be a motivator. At some point, Batoto ba Mungu were pinned in their own half with Kigonya making several saves. But the hosts resilient finally paid dividends in the 42nd minute courtesy of Robert Omunuk. Kigonya was called into action, parrying the ball after a good short in target, unfortunately it fell to the Ugandan, who coolly slotted home the equalizer.

After the break, Sofapaka came back strongly hoping to get the lead against the hard working hosts. In the 47th minute, Nakumatt custodian was called into action after a good short by veteran midfielder Hillary Echesa.

He was however, lucky as his spilled ball fell to Ali Feni, who was offside. With about twenty minutes to go, Nakumatt grabbed maximum points through Omunuk, who did well to go past the defenders, who were caught napping.

Batoto ba Mungu desperately pushed for a draw but nothing went their way as the hosts held on. After fifteen matches, Nakumatt are now placed seventh with 22 points, a point less than sixth placed Sofapaka.
