Akwa United’s Michael Ibe is confident that his best is yet to come in the 2018 Federation Cup despite scoring four goals in their 5-2 win against Aklosendi FC on Sunday in the Round of 32.
Before hitting four goals against the Nasarawa State representatives, the forward had earlier contributed four assists in their 7-0 annihilation of Hope of Glory in the Round of 64.
The attacker disclosed that he is hoping to remain very humble and fully focused on the next game aware that he needs to be consistent to end the season well.
“I am thrilled with the performance we had against Aklosendi. They came into the game with confidence having beaten Road Safety team before facing us,” Ibe told Goal.
“We were able to come out full throttle against them and we got our deserve victory. I am delighted with my form but for me, I know that I have not achieved anything yet and I need to keep my feet firmly on the ground.
“I scored four goals against Aklosendi but I still need to do more to ensure that I perform better in our next game. I also did well in our last game before Aklosendi tie despite not scoring a goal. I had four assists and we won very well.
“I know that I am not yet at the level I wanted and I will keep on pushing and working harder. It is our desire to win the Federation Cup again and we will not relent until we achieve our objectives.”
