The final round of the 2018 Malaysia Super League (MSL) took place over the weekend, with several surprise results finalising the standings of the competition's 15th edition.
On Saturday, champions JDT set the record for the most points collected in a season by any MSL club, when they beat Kuala Lumpur 2-0 at home to finish this year's league competition with 59 points. Both of the goals were scored by Fernando Maquez, in the 15th and 48th minutes.

Relegated Negeri Sembilan meanwhile lost 3-1 to Melaka United at home. The visitors were made to wait until the 49th minute to open the scoring, through Ifedayo Omosuyi's goal. Nasriq Baharom's 65th minute own goal and Ifedayo's second a minute later sealed the three points, while the hosts' consolation goal was scored by Flavio Beck Junior deep in injury time.

In Shah Alam, Perak who needed a win against PKNS FC to secure the second spot, fell to a 4-1 defeat to the hosts instead. Bruno Matos needed only two minutes to open the scoring for the Red Ants, but Gilmar da Silva equalised for the visitors nine minutes later. However, it was all PKNS afterwards, with Rafael Ramazotti scoring in the 39th minute, Matos adding his second of the night in the 78th minute, and Romel Morales rubbing salt in the wound in injury time.

Thankfully for the Bos Gaurus, the two teams with the chance to pip them to second place also stumbled at the final hurdle.
Pahang fell to a shock 2-1 defeat to the already-relegated Kelantan in Kota Bharu. Danial Ashraf Abdullah opened the scoring three minutes from the halftime whistle, and it took the Elephants until the 65th minute to find the equaliser, thanks to Austin Amutu's goal. But the hosts bagged the three points courtesy of Shafiq Shahrudin's 76th minute winner.

Playing without two of their foreign players who were suspended, Terengganu FC were thumped 2-0 by Selangor at the KLFA Stadium. The hosts' goals were scored by Syahmi Safari (72') and Rufino Segovia (89'). Rufino ended the league campaign as the league top-scorer with a total of 19 goals.

Ritus Krkjauklis opened the scoring in the 24th minute, before Kim Sang-Woo doubled the visitors' lead in the 33rd minute. Sandro da Silva pulled one back for the hosts five minutes into the second half, but Sang-Woo sealed the win with his second goal in the match, in the 64th minute.

Following the final round results, Perak are this season's runners up, while PKNS FC finished in third place; their highest ever league finish in Malaysian football. Kelantan meanwhile pipped Negeri to eleventh place, and although it was not enough to save them from relegation, the Red Warriors will take part in the Malaysia Cup, while Negeri will compete in the inaugural edition of the Challenge Cup.
