Moussa Marega thrilled by Porto’s Champions League progress

The Malian attacker rounded up his team’s victory with a stoppage-time effort that ensured their zoom into the next round of the tournament

Moussa Marega has taken to social media to celebrate his goal in Porto’s 3-1 win over Schalke 04 that secured their passage to the knockout stage of the Uefa Champions League.

The 27-year-old continued his fine goalscoring form by netting his fourth consecutive Champions League goal as Sergio Conceicao's men extended their unbeaten run in the competition.

After a goalless first-half, Eder Militao and Jesus Corona's effort put the hosts ahead but Nabil Bentaleb's penalty in the 89th minute halved the deficit for the Bundesliga outfit.

However, Marega's strike at the death of the encounter sealed victory at the Estadio Do Dragao and confirmed Porto’s position as Group D leaders with 13 points from five matches.

The 27-year-old, delighted by the team progress, shared a dressing room picture of their jubilation featuring injured Vincent Aboubakar and Chidozie Awaziem.
