Mosimane: I expected three points and not six goals against Orlando Pirates

The Brazilians were on fire as they easily bushed aside the Buccaneers at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Tshwane

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he didn’t expect to put six goals past Orlando Pirates in the league on Saturday afternoon.

“I expected three points not six [goals],” Mosimane said post-match.

Two goals apiece from Percy Tau and Thapelo Morena and goals each from Ricardo Nascimento and Themba Zwane earned Downs their biggest ever win over Bucs.

Mosimane wanted to know from his charges when they will score more goals from the chances they create as they answered his call today.

“I have been asking the guys; 'when are we going to score more goals'. It’s funny, Pirates is the only team that have created holes in our defence this year," he said

“They have great players. In the first 15 minutes, even after we scored, they created holes in our defence,” Mosimane continued.

Mosimane revealed that he will rest some of his key players against Chippa United in midweek in order to save them for the Saturday's Caf Super Cup clash against TP Mazembe.

“This weekend’s game was a very difficult game. It’s not going to be easy. Chippa is a very difficult team. We need to rest some players and give others a chance because we got to prepare for the [Caf] Super Cup with Mazembe," Mosimane confirmed.

Pirates assistant coach Benson Mhlongo had no words to explain the horror show, but apologised to their club’s supporters.

“All I can say is that Sundowns played better. They deserved the win. We’ll try to council them. We really say sorry to the supporters. We apologise,” Mhlongo said.
