Mohamed Salah in contention for English Premier League awards

The Egypt international was again at his best in the month under review and could swoop two individual accolades

Mohamed Salah is in contention for February's English Premier League awards following his superb displays for Liverpool.

The 25-year-old has been nominated for both the Player of the Month and Goal of the Month prizes.

The forward scored four goals and contributed two assists in meetings with Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton and West Ham United to take his tally in the top-flight to 23.

The former Roma player will slug it out with Sergio Aguero [Manchester City], Moussa Dembele [Tottenham], Pascal Gross [Brighton & Hove Albion], Eden Hazard [Chelsea], Glenn Murray [Brighton] and Xherdan Shaqiri [Stoke City] to nick the best performer award.

Should the Egypt international emerge winner, it would be his second time in the debut campaign with the Anfield outfit after he claimed the accolade in November.

For the best goal prize, Salah's Lionel Messi-esque goal in Liverpool's 2-2 stalemate with Spurs has wonderful strikes from Danilo, Mario Lemina, Jose Izquierdo [2[, Victor Wanyama, Sergio Aguero and Adam Smith to contend with.

The forward has been a revelation at Anfield scoring 31 goals in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s men since he joined in the summer.

He will be looking to having a fantastic March, starting from their next fixture against Newcastle United on Saturday
