Having trudged off the field in France, Mkhitaryan was then forced to sit out Sunday’s dramatic victory over Southampton in the League Cup final.

He has, however, been keeping his spirits up during a spell on the sidelines with the help of well wishes from a loyal fanbase.

Jose Mourinho will be hoping to have Mkhitaryan back at his disposal in the not too distant future, as the games continue to come thick and fast for United.

The League Cup may have been secured, but the Red Devils are still pushing for further success in the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League.

Mkhitaryan has played a leading role in progress on multiple fronts, with the 28-year-old starring after overcoming a slow start to his time in England to become a key performer for Mourinho.
