Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin Sredojevic felt that his side were unfortunate against a resilient Lamontville Golden Arrows side on Wednesday night.

The Soweto giants were held to a 0-0 draw by Abafana Bes'thende in a Premier Soccer League (PSL) match which was played at the Orlando Stadium.

The Serbian tactician stated that the Buccaneers struggled against a defensive Arrows side which is under the guidance of local trainer Clinton Larsen.

“We played against a very organised team. We intended to have a patient build-up, from that patient build up to have as many entries into the final third," Sredojevic told SuperSport TV

"From entrances into the last third, it has a domino effect of creating the chances and scoring. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be," he continued.

The draw saw Bucs move to second place on the league standings - a point behind log leaders Bidvest Wits.

“Arrows defended in numbers. It was in our homework to move that ball faster than what they are shifting and defending," Micho said.

“We did not plant players in the right angle or in the right areas. This would have created more chances and with creating more chances something would have 100% entered the goal with the law of averages,' he explained.

The well-travelled coach stated that they need to improve before they take on AmaZulu FC in their next league game on Saturday.

“We shall pick up the pieces and analyse this game critically, and we shall improve for our next match against AmaZulu on Saturday," he added.

“At the end of the match we only had two defensive players and threw everything up front, but unfortunately it was not meant to be," he said.

"We have to give credit to our opponent who defended very well and gave us limited chances from which we didn't convert," he concluded.

The encounter between Pirates and AmaZulu will be played at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
