The 28-year-old helped the Swedish outfit to make history as they became the first-ever club from the Scandinavian country to secure a knockout berth following a 2-0 victory over Ukrainian team Zorya in Group J.
They have now amassed ten points, two points above Athletic Club and four points above Zorya who occupy the third position.
“The feeling is so great. This is our first appearance in the competition and we are already in the next stage, I am so happy,” Mensah told Footballmadeinghana.
“We want to reach far, at least [semifinals] in the competition, since the [media] attention is now going to be more on us in the second round. However, we are ready and I'm so proud of my club and teammates,” he added.
Richmond Boakye Yiadom and Akwasi Frimpong are also pushing hard for qualification in Group H with Crvena Zvezda, as their side sit second behind Arsenal ahead of the final game against FC Koln at home next month.
