It's a match made in heaven and Daniel Arzani is savouring every minute of playing alongside fellow Melbourne City attacker Bruno Fornaroli.
With the Uruguayan ruled out for much of the season through injury, he's returned at the business end and is linking up very well with the young gun that filled some of his void.
Arzani and Fornaroli went close to opening the scoring in the first half against Brisbane Roar with a brilliant one-two undone by a scuffed finish from the teenager.
Though the partnership is only just developing, Arzani is already noticing the benefit of having Fornaroli alongside him.
"He's a great player," Arzani told Fox Sports post-game.
"He's someone you know is going to hold the ball up which is very useful for me because I don't have to dribble so much.
"I can just pass and move. It's been a pleasure to work with him."
City coach Warren Joyce has been critical of Arzani this season as the 19-year-old makes headlines for his eye-catching performances.
Though clearly a player of real potential, Arzani admits his game needs work and Joyce is doing his best to ensure those improvements are made.
"While he (Joyce) was saying I had things to work on, he was also encouraging me," Arzani said.
"There's somethings I do well and there's things I need to work on, so it works both ways."
Arzani and City pulled past Brisbane 2-0 in the first A-League final to secure a semi-final showdown against Newcastle Jets with the youngster confident his side are set for big things.
"There's a certain inner belief I don't think we've had before that we can actually do something very special this season."
