Ghana Premier League side Medeama have confirmed that midfielder John Arthur has left the club after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.

The 23-year-old joined Medeama in January 2017, showing glimpses of a bright future. However, he has been allowed to find another club following a reported disagreement on his salary and sign-on fee, with the Ghana Premier League still under suspension.

"We have mutually parted ways with midfielder John Arthur," a club statement read.

"After speaking to the player and taking into consideration the direction of the club, we mutually decided that it would be in everyone’s interest for us to part ways.

”John has indicated to us he is ready to take on the next stage of his career and we want to thank him for his service to Medeama Sporting Club.

”He is an excellent professional, who contributed immensely to the club since he joined in January 2017,” the statement added.

Goal understands that Arthur has become a transfer target for Elmina Sharks and Ebusua Dwarfs as the two Central region giants prepare for the restart of the Ghana Premier League.
