The pair have got some well deserved recognition for their efforts over the past 12 months

Sam Kerr has secured her second successive nomination for FIFA Women's Player of the Year after another whirlwind 12 months for the Matildas striker.

She was named on a ten-name shortlist after guiding the Matildas to a Tournament of Nations win and Asian Cup final over the past year.

Her club exploits have been just as impressive as she was jointly awarded the W-League’s Julie Dolan medal for her efforts with Perth Glory and became the National Women’s Soccer League all-time leading goal scorer.

Matildas coach Alen Stajcic meanwhile has earned his first FIFA nomination, listed alongside nine others for best women's coach.

Stajcic, who has been in charge of the side since 2014, saw the Matildas rise to fourth in the world last year - their highest ever ranking.

Looking to defend their Tournament of Nations crowd, the Matildas and Stajcic also have one eye on the 2019 World Cup in France with Australia's among the early favourites.

Both Kerr and Stajcic will find out if their nominations lead to any silverware on September 24 at The Best FIFA Football Awards show in London.
