Kaizer Chiefs have been boosted by the return to full training of defender Erick Mathoho.

The lanky centre-back had been out injured with a groin injury and he missed Amakhosi's last three matches.

However, according to the club's medical team, he is back in full training and ready to fight for his place in the team.

“Erick is back in full training,” confirmed team physiotherapist Dave Milner on the Chiefs website.

“He has fully recovered from a groin injury,” said Milner.

Mathoho joined his teammates at the training grounds on Thursday and he finished the session without any problems.

Furthermore, George Maluleka has also shrugged off a thigh injury to rejoin his his teammates in preparation for Amakhosi's next match against Highlands Park

The 29-year-old only returned to action two weeks ago and won the man of the award againt Free State Stars on his first match of the season.

“George is fine and training with the team. It was a minor problem, but we thought it would be wise to take precaution to avoid worsening the injury,” said Milner.

Lastly, Joseph Molangoane is still on crutches, but the medical teams reported that he's getting stronger by the day.

The diminutive midfielder broke his leg in Chiefs' 3-0 win over Ea Lla Koto in the MTN8 quarterfinals earlier this season.

“Tight is getting stronger and stronger by the day. He works out in the gym and is steadily going through the recovery journey,” concluded Milner.
