Maritzburg United goalkeeper Ofori delighted with performance in PSL

Maritzburg United goalkeeper Richard Ofori says he is happy with his performance so far in the 2017-18 South African Premier Soccer League.

The 24-year-old joined the Team of Choice from Wa All Stars in July and has played 12 games, keeping six clean sheets as a result in the first-half of the season.

However, he believes he can still improve when the second round resumes in January.

“I am okay with my performance in the league so far. Football is a team sport and must always be seen as such. As a team we conceded just eight goals in the first half of the season and that was the league’s best," Ofori told Ghanacrusader.

“We are looking at even reducing this figure when the second round of the league commences. Collectively, we are improving and I am confident we will make improvements in our defensive unit in the second half of the season.

“Six clean sheets in 12 games would have been good for many goal keepers but I am not so happy because I feel I have to work extra hard. Next round will be super good for me and Maritzburg United,” he added.

Maritzburg are ninth on the log with 18 points, ten points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
