Manyama credits Ertugral for his success at Cape Town City

Cape Town City captain Lebogang Manyama believes that Turkish-born coach Muhsin Ertugral was vital to formulating the structure of the team last season.

“Definitely, he has been vital to the contribution to the success of this team. He structured the team very well and made the players believe in their abilities,” Manyama told Goal.

The Mpumalanga Black Aces sold its status to John Comitis, who renamed it prior to the current season for a purported R50 million and they are now coached by Eric Tinkler.

Ertugral recruited players like Manyama, Aubrey Ngoma, Shuaib Walters, Thabo Nodada and Judas Moseamedi, who are still with City.

“I think credit should go to Tinkler for our success this season. It’s going well with him. We had a great time with coach Ertugral and we made history with Aces,” he said.

“Now, it’s time for coach Tinkler who is also trying to make a bit of history this time with Cape Town City,” Manyama concluded.

In their first year of existence, the Citizens have already clinched silverware in the form of the Telkom Knockout when they got the better of SuperSport United in the final last December.

They are currently competing for this season's PSL title.
