Kaizer Chiefs midfelder George Maluleka says they aim to leave their supporters with a good impression that they will be returning an even resurgent side come next season.
Amakhosi are set to end the current season trophyless and Maluleka says they are now hoping to finish third in order to qualify for the 2018 Caf Confederation Cup.
"Well, we are on the brink of ending yet another season empty-handed. But in these three remaining games we have taken it upon ourselves to fight like soldiers and finish the season strongly," Maluleka told Vodacom Soccer.
"We may not have won anything [this season], but we are gunning for a strong finish, and leave our supporters with a good impression that we will be returning an even resurgent side come next season," he continued.
The Soweto giants need to win their remaining games and hope that fourth-placed SuperSport United and third-placed Cape Town City drop points.
"Yes, we are aware of the fact that we still stand a chance to finish the season in the third position on the log table which can enable us to qualify for Confederation (Cup)," Maluleka added.
"But there is Cape Town City and SuperSport ahead of us, so it will be a matter of who wins, and who drops the points in the remaining games, it's an unpredictable, tight situation," he stressed.
"But what we need is nothing but to win our remaining games and look where we end," Maluleka concluded.
