Lorient president Fery hints at Waris exit in January

Lorient president Loic Fery has admitted their willingness to release Ghana international Abdul Majeed Waris in January if a club meets his price tag.

The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League with Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Burnley reported to have shown interest in services.

Waris has had a slow start to the Ligue 2 campaign so far, making only six appearances, including four starts and scoring only one goal.

''His situation is different. We aren’t against a departure for Majeed Waris but it has to be a good deal for the club," Fery told Ouest France.

"We won’t just accept anything. A loan? It depends on what conditions and if it can help us strengthen the squad, we'll accept it and allow him to move," he added.

Waris has previously played for Valenciennes, Russian club Spartak Moscow and Swedish Allsvenskan side B.K Hacken.

He was spotted at the Emirates Stadium last week when Arsenal defeated Newcastle United 1-0, sparking reports of an impending move away from Stade du Moustoir.
