Florenzi signs new long-term Roma contract


Roma vice-captain Alessandro Florenzi has extended his career-long association with the club by signing a new five-year contract that runs until 2023.

Florenzi's future had been the subject of speculation, with his previous deal due to expire at the end of this season and sporting director Monchi conceding he was uncertain over Florenzi's next move.

Milan confirm Higuain and Caldara signings as Bonucci heads for Juventus


The Serie A clubs have completed a pair of moves which sees three players switch clubs

AC Milan have confirmed the signings of Juventus pair Gonzalo Higuain and Mattia Caldara as they bid farewell to Bianconeri-bound defender Leonardo Bonucci. 

Higuain is gearing up to star at his third Serie A club on an initial loan move, including a fee estimated at €18 million (£16m/$21m) with a purchase option at the end of his first season.

Caldara and Bonucci switch teams in a straight swap, with no further money changing hands between the clubs.

Crystal Palace confirm signing of Max Meyer


The former Schalke man joins the Premier League club on free transfer

Crystal Palace have confirmed the arrival of Schalke youngster Max Meyer, who joins the Premier League team on a three-year deal. 

The playmaker had been linked with moves to both Liverpool and Arsenal prior to his contract expiry, but moves from the two giants failed to materialise in the summer. 

"I feel really good and I'm happy to be here. I can't wait to start training with the team and I hope I'll have a good season," Meyer told the club's official website.

Vidal closes in on €20m Barcelona transfer


The midfielder appeared set for Inter but the La Liga champions look ready to steal another deal

Arturo Vidal is close to becoming Barcelona's latest arrival in the summer transfer market, with the Blaugrana set to snap up the Bayern Munich star for less than €20 million (£17.8m/$23.2m). 

Goal can confirm that Vidal has been offered to the Blaugrana by his agent, Fernando Felicevich.

While Inter had reportedly agreed a deal with Bayern's Chile midfielder, Barca could once more jump in to hijack the move as they did to Roma for former Bordeaux attacker Malcom.

Fulham complete £20m Mawson swoop


Alfie Mawson has joined Fulham from Swansea City for an undisclosed fee, reported to be worth in the region of £20 million.

The 24-year-old centre-back has signed a four-year contract, committing himself to Craven Cottage until June 2022.

"I'm really happy to get this over the line and join Fulham," Mawson told the club's official website.

Doucoure renews with Watford until 2023


Watford have tied down midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure to a new five-year contract.

The 25-year-old French midfielder was a standout performer for the Hornets last season, scoring seven goals to be named Watford's player of the year by both his team-mates and supporters.

Both Everton and Tottenham were both reportedly interested in poaching the Doucoure, but he has put that speculation to rest after committing his future to the Hornets until 2023.

Burnley have launched a £12 million bid for Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson according to Sky Sports.

The 25-year-old Boro captain, who signed a five-year contract last season, has also drawn the interest of Everton, West Ham and Leicester City.

Willian launches legal action over 'forged' letter


Chelsea winger Willian has instructed his lawyers to take legal action over a "forged" letter purporting to authorise a change of agent.

The Brazil international shared the document on Instagram on Thursday with a statement denouncing its authenticity.

The letter, which Willian says has been "circulated through the football market", claims to sanction a change in his representation until August 15.

Spurs to listen to offers for Alderweireld and Rose


The two defenders could be on their way out as the club want to add two more players this window

Tottenham want two new signings and will listen to offers for Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose and Mousa Dembele, reports Sky Sports

Both Alderweireld and Dembele have contracts that are running down, while Rose has seen his playing time decrease and has been critical of the club in the past.

Spurs are hoping to land Aston Villa's Jack Grealish as one of their two targets with the other player contingent on which of the three players the club manage to sell. 

Man Utd could block Januzaj to Leicester


Leciester City hope to bring Adnan Januzaj but may run into a roadblock in the form of Manchester United, reports HLN.

The Foxes see the Belgian international as the perfect replacement for Riyad Mahrez and have already made a bid to Real Sociedad for his services.

But Manchester United, who gave Januzaj his start in the Premier League as a teenager, have the option to match any deal to sign the attacker, and could block the Foxes from making a move. 

Newcastle sign Japan star Muto


Newcastle United have completed the signing of striker Yoshinori Muto from Mainz after he was awarded a work permit.

The 26-year-old has signed a four-year deal and arrives for a fee of £9.5 million ($12m).

West Brom knock back £16m Rodriguez bid


Burnley have had a £16 million ($21m) bid for Jay Rodriguez rejected by West Brom, The Telegraph reports.

The relegated side have already rejected an offer from Burnley for both Rodriguez and Craig Dawson, but Sean Dyche’s side have returned for the attacker.

West Brom are determined to keep Rodriguez, but Burnley are considering returning with an improved bid.

Man City want Verratti


Manchester City are interested in signing Marco Verratti this summer, Tuttomercatoweb reports.

With Pep Guardiola's preferred target, Jorginho, having moved to Chelsea, the Premier League champions are being forced to look elsewhere for midfield reinforcements.

It is said that relations between City and PSG are strained, however, and that Verratti will have to hand in a transfer request for the English side to have any chance of landing the 25-year-old.


Utd demand Lewandowski in any Martial deal


Manchester United will demand Robert Lewandowski as part of any deal that would see Anthony Martial join Bayern Munich, The Sun claims.

Martial's ongoing disputes with Jose Mourinho mean the French attacker is set to move on this summer, although the Red Devils do not want to sell to an English rival.

Bayern have been keeping tabs on Martial for some time, but the 22-year-old is likely to want to stay in the Premier League following the birth of his child.

Both Chelsea and Tottenham have been credited with an interest.

Batshuayi wanted by Atletico


Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Michy Batshuayi from ChelseaL'Equipe reports.

The Belgian is looking for a move away from Stamford Bridge to find first-team football and has attracted the attention of Valencia.

But Diego Simeone's men are hoping to lure him to the Spanish capital and have already made contact with the Blues.

Barca join Arturo Vidal chase


The Blaugrana want more options in midfield

Barcelona have joined Inter in the race to sign Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich, Mundo Deportivo reports.

It had been said that Inter had all but wrapped up a deal for the Chilean, but interest from Barca comes after Paulinho left the Camp Nou club in favour of a return to Guangzhou Evergrande.

Regardless of where Vidal, now 31, ends up, Bayern expect to make at least €30 million (£26.5m/$35m) from his sale, €5m less than what they paid for him in 2015.

BVB to announce Witsel signing


Borussia Dortmund are close to finalising the transfer of Axel Witsel from Tianjin Quanjian, according to Bild.

BVB CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke and sporting director Michael Zorc did not join travel with the team to their Switzerland training camp in order to wrap up the deal.

It is believed that the Bundesliga side will pay off Witsel's €20 million (£18m/$23m) release clause, finish up the finer details and announce the signing in the coming days.

Higuain, Bonucci & Caldara deals near completion


Gonzalo Higuain and Mattia Caldara both arrived at Clinica La Madonnina on Thursday morning to complete medicals ahead of finalising their respective moves to AC Milan.

Elsewhere, Leonardo Bonucci landed at Caselle airport in Turin before heading off to complete his own medical for his transfer back to Juventus.

Completion of the deals could be announced later on Thursday.


Liverpool consider £15m Ojo sale


Liverpool will consider selling Sheyi Ojo before the transfer window closes, despite Jurgen Klopp's assertion the club only wanted to send him on loan.

Aston Villa midfielder Grealish has been linked with Spurs for a number of months and the North London side were reported to have made a £20m ($26m) offer for his services, but the Blues are said to be keen, which complicates the issue.

Max Meyer passes Palace medical


German starlet Max Meyer has passed a medical with Crystal Palace, The Sun reports.

Roy Hodgson will pull off one of the coups of the summer window by landing the highly rated 22-year-old, who had been dubbed 'the German Messi' throughout his development.

It is said that Meyer will sign a four-year deal with the London club.


West Ham in talks for Marega, Brahimi & Felix


Representatives from West Ham have travelled to Portugal in a bid to finalise deals for Porto pair Moussa Marega and Yacine Brahimi, as well as Benfica teenager Joao Felix, ESPN reports.

Is it said that Hammers are hopeful of setting up a long-standing partnership with the Primeira Liga clubs to ensure smoother transfer negotiations in future.

Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini has already made seven signings this summer and shows no signs of slowing down in his efforts to strengthen the squad.

The Blues are actively trying to offload Olivier Giroud to Marseille, which would give the club the cash to match any offer from Milan. 

FC Cincinnati lands Sweden international


FC Cincinnati continued to build toward its first MLS season with another signing on Wednesday. 

Having already landed Fanendo Adi from the Portland Timbers as the club's first designated player, the club moved to add Swedish defender Pa Konate on loan from Serie A side S.P.A.L.

While the side will not begin play in MLS until 2019, the 24-year-old, like Adi, will close the 2018 campaign in the second tier of U.S. soccer with FCC's USL side. The year-long loan will also require Cincy to either buy the defender or extend his loan for him to finish the 2019 season with the club. 

West Ham nearing £20m Thiago Maia deal


West Ham are on the verge of topping the £100 million ($131m) mark on their summer spending spree with the club nearing the signing of Thiago Maia, according to The Sun

The Brazilian is set to make a £20m move to the Hammers from Lille and will bring an end to Manuel Pellegrini's search for a defensive midfielder. 

Emery ignoring Ramsey rumours


Arsenal head coach Unai Emery is focused on the club's Premier League preparations amid speculation over Aaron Ramsey, though he hopes the star midfielder remains at the Emirates.

Ramsey is out of contract at the end of the season and the Wales international has been linked with La Liga champions Barcelona and Premier League rivals Chelsea.
