Premier League side Everton have made a late move to land Barcelona outcast Andre Gomes, according to the Daily Mail

The club were already looking to bring in his team-mate Yerry Mina before the close of the window and now want to land Gomes as well, though it could be a loan move for the Portugal international. 

Chelsea capture Kepa for world-record £72m fee


Goalkeeper joins as immediate replacement for the departed Courtois

Chelsea moved quickly to replace Thibaut Courtois, signing Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic for a world-record €80 million (£72m/$92m) deal for a goalkeeper.

He becomes the second world-record goalkeeper signing of the summer following Liverpool's signing of Alisson.

Schalke approach Spurs over Rose loan


Other English sides remain in the hunt for the full-back

Danny Rose is in talks over a season-long loan move to Schalke, who have approached Tottenham on the eve of the English transfer window deadline day.

The England international is being offered the chance to resurrect his career at the second placed Bundesliga side from last season, with the Germany club aiming to compete with any English club who come in for the full-back ahead of the transfer deadline on Thursday.

However, the transfer window in Germany remains open until August 31, which may help Schalke secure Rose on loan.

The Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer are in talks with Mexico center back Hector Moreno, according to The Athletic

The 30-year-old currently plays for Real Sociedad in La Liga and was a key player for Mexico at the World Cup in Russia, though he missed out on the knockout round loss to Brazil


Man Utd want Boateng - but only on loan


Jose Mourinho is hoping to bring in defender Jerome Boateng from Bayern Munich, but only on a temporary deal, reports Sky Sports.

The defender has had an assortment of injuries over the past few seasons, which have scared Manchester United away from a permanent move.

However, with the transfer deadline fast apporaching, they are running out of time to find the central defender Mourinho wants. 

Courtois clinches Real Madrid move; Kovacic goes to Chelsea


The goalkeeper gets his long desired move back to the Spanish capital

Chelsea have confirmed the sale of Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid, with Mateo Kovacic joining the Blues on loan as part of the deal. 

The Belgium star will sign a six-year deal with the Champions League holders after Madrid agreed a reported €35m (£31m/$40m) transfer that will also see Kovacic spend a year on loan in London.

Cardiff considering Huddlestone bid


Cardiff are considering an attempt to bring Derby midfielder Tom Huddlestone back to the Premier League, according to the Sun.

Cardiff boss Neil Warnock covets Huddlestone's top-flight experience and has made him a top target before the deadline.

Middlesbrough are also monitoring the situation, but Derby hopes to hold onto Huddlestone for their promotion push.

Watford close in on Sturaro loan


Watford are closing in on a deal to sign Setfano Sturaro on from Juventus with an option to buy, reports the Sun.

Leicester City and West Ham were among the teams interested in signing him, but those sides were put off by his price tag.

However, Watford, who has money to spare from the Richarlison sale, are close to a deal, having also beaten out Sporting for the midfielder. 

Watford interested in Ward-Prowse


Watford are interested in signing Southampton's James Ward-Prowse on loan, according to Sky Sports.

However, Southampton have declared the player is not available and will reject any approach for him.

Arsenal considering late Vida approach


Arsenal are deciding whether to make a late push to sign Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida for £27 million ($35m), reports the Evening Standard

The Gunners wanted a cash-plus-player swap, with Danny Welbeck possibly included, but the Turkish club wanted cash only for the Croatia international.

Vida wants an England move, but Arsenal are believed to require player sales to fund any further purchases.

Dendoncker flies to England for Wolves talks


Anderlecht's Leander Dendoncker is on his way to England to hold talks with Wolves, reports HLN.

Dendoncker has wanted a Premier League move before, but saw interest from West Ham and Watford swatted back in previous windows.


Sounders sign Bournemouth defender Smith on loan


The Seattle Sounders have signed Bournemouth defender Brad Smith on loan, the two clubs announced Wednesday.

The Australia international joins the Sounders until June 2019, though Bournemouth have an option to recall him in January.

Smith joins just ahead of the MLS secondary transfer deadline, which closes at the end of the day August 8.

Fekir could be on the move


Grealish wants Tottenham move


Jack Grealish has not given up hope he will be allowed to join Tottenham, despite Aston Villa rejecting a £25 million bid ($32m), reports Sky Sports.

The midfielder, who wants the chance to play in the Premier League for a top-four club, had been told he could leave Villa.

However, that was prior to the new owners arrival, and they have since knocked back bids from Spurs and other clubs for Grealish's services.


Three clubs in hunt for Slimani


Three clubs are in talks to sign Leicester City forward Islam Slimani according to Sky Sports.

Slimani's previous club, Sporting Lisbon, along with Turkish sides Besiktas and Fenerbache are after the Algeria international.

Slimani had previously been Leicester City's most expensive signing, but has struggled to make an impact and spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle. 

Memphis Depay hopes to move to 'bigger club'


Memphis Depay has added weight to the rumours linking him with a move away from Lyon by expressing his desire to join "a bigger club".

The 24-year-old, who signed for Lyon from Manchester United in January 2017 for an initial €16 million (£14m/$18.5m), is reportedly a target for AC Milan after a successful 2017-18 season at Groupama Stadium.

Memphis was disciplined by Lyon after failing to report for pre-season training on time, leading to increased speculation over his future.

Simon Mignolet could be on his way to Napoli this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Having dropped to third-choice keeper at Liverpool following the signing of Alisson for a world-record fee, the Belgian appears out of the picture.

And the Serie A side could offer him a lifeline, having already assessed a move for Arsenal's David Ospina. 

Napoli have already signed Orestis Karnezis from Udinese this summer for a fee of €35 million (£32m/$41m)

Eriksen top of Real Madrid's shortlist


Dane in the frame to replace Modric

Real Madrid have made Christian Eriksen their top transfer target should they lose Luka Modric to Inter, according to The Mirror.

They face a fight to retain the services of the 32-year-old Croatia international, who was the Golden Ball winner at the World Cup.

President Florentino Perez has said he will not be allowed to depart for less than his €750 million release clause, but is lining up a move for Eriksen.

Spurs' inability to find a replacement, however, could prove problematic.

Palace and Southampton lead Ings chase


Liverpool attacker Danny Ings is likely to be on the move this summer and Crystal Palace and Southampton lead the chase for the ex-Burnley man.

The Standard reports that £20 million will be sufficient to secure the services of the striker.

Ings has played only 14 games in three injury-hit seasons with the Reds, scoring four goals.

Maguire still wants Man Utd move


England hero Harry Maguire still wants to move to Manchester United this summer, Sky Sports report.

The Old Trafford club have foundered in their quest to find a centre-back this summer but the Leicester man is open to an eleventh-hour move.

The Foxes may be in talks to sign two centre-backs - Filip Benkovic from Dinamo Zagreb and Caglar Soyuncu from Freiburg - but they insist their star man is not up for sale.

AC Milan have entered talks to sign Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko on loan, according to Sky Italia.

Bakayoko struggled in his first season at Stamford Bridge after moving from Monaco, and could be leaving after featuring in the pre-season for the Blues. 

The report states Milan are likely to have an option to purchase the 23-year-old. 

Burnley want £15m Bolasie


Burnley are looking to sign Everton winger Yannick Bolasie in a £15 million ($19m) deal, reports The Sun.

Sean Dyche's side have emerged as the favourites to sign Bolasie, as no other side has come close to nearing Everton's £20m ($26m) valuation. 

Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace were also keen on the 29-year-old.
