£65m man Alisson learning from mistakes


Alisson insists he will not be “stupid” and repeat the mistake which saw Liverpool concede their first Premier League goal of the season at Leicester.

The Reds invested £65 million ($84m) in the Brazil international goalkeeper over the summer and had seen him impress greatly prior to an outing at the King Power Stadium.

Coentrao happy to take pay cut


Fabio Coentrao has said that he is content with his decision to take a step down from Real Madrid in order to chase happiness.

The Portugal international, who has endured a tough 12 months, has taken a pay cut to get out of the Santiago Bernabeu and return to his homeland at boyhood club Rio Ave.

He said: “There is no money that can pay for happiness. I was born poor. I don't mind dying poor.”

Leroy Sane has been left out of the Manchester City squad for their game against Newcastle on Saturday evening.

Sources have told Goal that Pep Guardiola is unhappy with the winger’s attitude.

The Germany international has been struggling for domestic game time on the back of being overlooked by his country for World Cup 2018 duty.

Celtic have snapped up highly-rated 16-year-old England youth international Armstrong Okoflex from Arsenal on a three-year contract.

Abraham explains Chelsea exit


Tammy Abraham claims to have snubbed “a lot of teams” before joining Aston Villa on loan because Chelsea had assured him he would see regular game time this season.

Roma sound out ex-Juventus star Marchisio


Monchi has already been in touch with the 32-year-old's representative

Roma are considering signing Italy international Claudio Marchisio after making contact with the player's father and agent, La Repubblica reports.

The midfielder left Juventus during the summer but is yet to sign for a new club despite offers from Zenit and Porto.

But Roma believe the 32-year-old will be a good addition to their squad and sporting director Monchi has already started sounding him out.

Tim Cahill has joined Indian Super League side Jamshedpur.

The 38-year-old Australia international was snapped up after being released from Championship side Millwall.

Red Star sign ex-Chelsea player Marin


Former Chelsea winger Marko Marin has joined Red Star Belgrade.

The German winger spent four years at Chelsea but was sent on numerous loan deals before joining Olympiacos.

The 29-year-old signed a two-year deal with the Serbian side with an option to extend for a further season.

Jese move to Nantes broke down at the last


PSG misfit Jese narrowly missed out on a move to Nantes, RMC reports.

Why? Diego Carlos' €10m move to Zenit St Petersburg broke down, depriving Nantes the money they required to pay the Spaniard's wages.

Now, the ex-Real Madrid man faces a long few months on the sidelines.

Neymar wants Barcelona return


Neymar still has his eyes set on a return to Barcelona, Don Balon reports.

The Brazil international move to PSG last summer, and while he is committed to the Ligue 1 champions for now, he still yearns to go back to Camp Nou - or so Philippe Coutinho has told Lionel Messi.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are still targeting the 26-year-old.

Musonda loaned to Vitesse


One deal you may have missed yesterday evening was Chelsea's Charly Musonda again leaving Stamford Bridge on loan.

The young Belgian cut short an 18-month loan at Celtic during the summer having struggled for game time and was keen to find a club a suitable stature this season.

The right offer has not been forthcoming, however, and instead he will now spend the campaign with the Blues' sister club, Vitesse.

Gedson Fernandes renews with Benfica


Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes has signed an improved contract with the club that runs through 2023.

The 19-year-old is considered a star of the future, and has been linked with Manchester United and Juventus, among other clubs. 

Lo Celso joins Real Betis on loan


PSG midfielder ​Giovani Lo Celso has joined Real Betis on a one-year loan with an option to make the move permanent. 

The 22-year-old made 48 appearances in all competitions last season, but faced a diminished role under new manager Thomas Tuchel.

Spurs wanted €35m from PSG for Rose


The Ligue 1 champions were unwilling to meet Daniel Levy's demands

Tottenham were demanding €35 million (£31/$41m) from PSG in exchange for Danny Rose, according to Le10Sport

The two clubs had been in discussions over a move for the England left-back, which would have been a loan with an option to buy.

But when Tottenham president Daniel Levy named his price, PSG refused and moved on to other left-back options. 

Benkovic moves to Celtic on loan


Leicester City defender Filip Benkovic has moved to Celtic on loan for the 2018-19 season.

The 21-year-old joined the Foxes from Dinamo Zagreb this summer.

Choupo-Moting joins PSG


Paris Saint-Germain have completed the surprise signing of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting from Stoke City.

The 29-year-old will be reunited with Thomas Tuchel, who managed the Cameroonian when the pair were at Mainz. 

Choupo-Moting has signed a two-year deal with the Ligue 1 champions.

Markovic move to Anderlecht falls through


Lazar Markovic's £2.9 million move to Anderlecht has collapsed due to the player's wage demands, Goal can confirm. 

The Liverpool winger flew to Belgium on a private plane to complete the deal, but instead will stay at Anfield as the final season of his contract winds down.

The French midfielder is ready to join up with Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United star Paul Pogba wants to join Juventus in January, according to Tuttosport.

The France midfielder has been involved in a public spat with Jose Mourinho, and is ready to reunite with his former club. 

Pogba is intrigued by the possibility of teaming up with Cristiano Ronaldo, and wouldn't be cup-tied to United for the Champions League due to new UEFA rules. 

Villa open Grealish contract talks


Aston Villa are preparing to open talks with star attacker Jack Grealish over a new contract, according to The Telegraph.

Grealish nearly departed the club for Tottenham in the summer, but ended up staying with the Championship side as they chase promotion. 

New Villa chief executive Christian Purslow is now hoping to tie the 22-year-old to the club for the long term. 


West Brom fail with £15m Dack bid


West Brom have seen a £15 million ($19m) bid for Blackburn Rovers attacker Bradley Dack rejected, reports The Sun.

The Baggies saw a £7m ($9m) bid for the 24-year-old rejected earlier in the week, but still believed they could land Dack before the transfer deadline. 

But Rovers held firm, believing Dack to be key to the club's push for promotion to the Premier League. 


Schmeichel signs long-term Leicester deal


Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has signed a five-year contract extension.

The Danish international was subject to interest in the summer after another strong season for the Foxes and a solid display for his country at the World Cup. 

But the 31-year-old has committed his long-term future to the club he helped lead to an unlikely Premier League title in 2015-16.

Lyon sign Dembele from Celtic


Lyon have signed striker Moussa Dembele from Celtic in a deal worth €22 million (£20m/26m).

The 22-year-old scored 26 league goals for Celtic in two seasons after moving from Fulham in 2016.
