N'Jie loan to Sporting falls through at last moment

Marseille attacker Clinton N'Jie will not be joining Sporting CP after the Ligue 1 club announced a deal has fallen through.

An agreement of €1 million and Sporting covering N'Jie's wages had been finalised, with reports suggesting the Cameroon international failed a medical.

However, Marseille have pushed back against that, while confirming the move is off, saying: "Olympique de Marseille indicates that at the end of the final discussions held this morning with the Sporting Club of Portugal, the two clubs did not reach a full and complete agreement on the contractual terms and the financial elements relating to the player's loan, Clinton N' Jie, so the player will not engage with the Portuguese club and OM are counting on him for this weekend's match against Rennes."

Kante to remain at Chelsea

In case you missed it...

France international N’Golo Kante has made the decision to remain at Chelsea for the coming season, reports Le10Sport.

The 27-year-old, who was a member of his country’s World Cup-winning team in Russia this year, had attracted the interest of both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

But the defensive midfielder, who arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2016, has now apparently opted to remain with the Blues following the arrival of Maurizio Sarri.

No bids for Spurs duo Rose and Alderweireld

Tottenham have no offers on the table for defensive duo Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld, according to TalkSport.

Rose was linked with a move to Bundesliga outfit Schalke over the summer, while Alderweireld was linked with a high-profile switch to Manchester United, though neither deal transpired.

And despite continued rumours, reports suggest that there are currently no offers open for either of the Spurs defenders.

PSG to throw Draxler into Rakitic deal

Paris Saint-Germain are ready to offer Julian Draxler to Barcelona in part-exchange for Ivan Rakitic, Don Balon reports.

The Ligue 1 champions are chasing the Croatia midfielder but have been put off by Barca's €125 million (£112m/$145m) valuation of him.

In a bid to drive the price down, they are offering the Germany international, who is not a central part of Thomas Tuchel's plans.

Chelsea fended off PSG bid for Marcos Alonso

Marcos Alonso was the top name on Paris Saint-Germain list in their quest for a left-back, but Chelsea fended off their approach, Marca reports.

Under contract until 2021, the Spaniard has been linked with a move back to his homeland as well as the Ligue 1 champions, but with three years left to run on his deal, the Blues hold all the aces.

As such, PSG have turned their attentions back towards Filipe Luis.

Justin Kluivert was right to snub Man Utd, says dad

Justin Kluivert made the right choice in joining Roma instead of making the switch to Manchester United or Barcelona this year, his father Patrick says.

"A jump to the Premier League would have been difficult... I think United would have been too big a jump. Roma is an important club, but the pressures are lower," he said.

Celtic bid for Aberdeen's McKenna knocked back

While PSG offered him €7.2m (£6.5m/$8.4m) per year, Barcelona are reportedly willing to offer him €10m per year.

Marseille do not want Yaya Toure

Marseille president Jacques-Henri Eyraud has said that the Stade Velodrome club are not interested in signing Yaya Toure.

The former Manchester City man is available on a free transfer but is not of interest to OM.

Speaking to L'Equipe, Eyraud said: "After Andre-Frank Zambo-Anguissa was sold to Fulham, we've been looking for players in that area. Could it be Yaya Toure? No."

Adams wants Livingston job

Arsenal legend Tony Adams has been in touch with Livingston over the prospect of becoming their new coach, The Daily Record reports.

The ex-England centre-back was last in charge at Granada, where he lost all seven of his games in charge.

Lafferty heads back to Rangers

Kyle Lafferty is on the verge of joining Rangers for a second time, Sky Sports reports.

The Northern Ireland international scored the winner for Hearts against Celtic last weekend and will have a medical with the Ibrox side today.

He played 138 times and scored 38 goals in his previous stint at the club.

Marseille want Ajax keeper Onana

Marseille will make a late bid to sign Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to Sport.

They see the 22-year-old Cameroonian as a good option for cover.

Draxler could be heading to La Liga

Sevilla are chasing a loan deal for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Julian Draxler, Diario de Sevilla reports.

The German continues to find himself on the fringes of things at the Parc des Princes and he has become a target for the Spanish club, who are seeking a "top" forward who can play on the left.

If a deal it completed, it could pave the way for Wissam Ben Yedder to move to Marseille.

Atletico Madrid want €30m for PSG target Filipe Luis

Atletico Madrid may let Filipe Luis leave this summer - but not for less than €30 million, Marca reports.

The Brazil international has been targeted by Paris Saint-Germain, who are on the hunt to add depth to their left-back position.

Atleti want to keep hold of the 33-year-old, however.

Falcao & Willian offered to Real Madrid

Monaco striker Radamel Falcao and Chelsea star Willian were offered to Real Madrid this summer, according to Onda Cero.

A long-time target for the Bernabeu side, they rejected the approach as the former Atletico Madrid ace is not of the profile they are currently seeking.

The European champions have also been keeping an interest in Willian, but the approach from his agent was also knocked back because he would be too expensive.

Real Madrid's attempt to sign Rodrigo from Valencia has hit an impass, according to Marca.

Valencia are prepared to sell the Spain international, having already signed Kevin Gameiro and Michy Batshuayi as cover, but are still holding out for his release clause of €120 million.

Madrid, meanwhile, are not interested in spending so much on one player but could move if the price drops as deadline day approaches.

Man City seek Bravo replacement in Madrid

The transfer window may be closed for Premier League clubs, but AS believes that Manchester City are studying the possibility of signing Keylor Navas from Real Madrid as cover for the injured Claudio Bravo.

Chile international goalkeeper Bravo is expected to miss much of the season with an Achilles tendon injury, leaving Ederson as his club's chief shot-stopper.

Pep Guardiola wants to increase the depth in that area and could seek to sign Navas as soon as possible.

Man City not interested in Cillessen

Manchester City are not considering a move for Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, per Sport.

The Premier League champions have been dealt a significant blow after Claudio Bravo snapped his Achilles tendon, with a lay-off of around six months likely for the Chilean.

This leaves City without an experienced second-choice shot-stopper – but given that they will be unable to sign a replacement until January at the earliest, Cillessen is not of interest to them right now.

Martial determined to prove himself at United

France international set to stay at Old Trafford

Anthony Martial wants to prove himself at Manchester United under Jose Mourinho, completing a U-turn over speculation he would depart Old Trafford, reports The Sun.

The Wales international is in the midst of trying to secure a better deal at the Emirates and is believed to want a hefty increase on his current contract, which expires at the end of the season.

The Gunners however are not bowing to pressure and Ramsey may look to secure an exit instead before the European transfer window shuts at the end of August.
