The England international has been told he can leave the Saints having fallen down the pecking order.

And now a move to Turkey is on the cards, with Burnley - who were previously keen on Forster - having opted to sign Joe Hart instead.

Blancos braced for midfielders exit

Real Madrid are eyeing a move for Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic as a replacement for Luka Modric, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Modric has told the Champions League winners that he wants to leave amid interest from Inter.

And Pjanic has been identified as the ideal replacement at Santiago Bernabeu.

Lyon remain hopeful of signing Mina


Lyon remain hopeful of beating Everton to the signing of Barcelona defender Yerry Mina.

The Toffees have agreed a €32m (£29m/$37m) fee to sign the Colombia international after a summer of negotiations.

But Lyon believe their offer of playing in the Champions League will be enough for them to tempt Mina to France.

Chelsea have made Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland their top target to replace Thibaut Courtois, according to Sky Sports.

The Blues have already made contact with the Championship outfit as they prepare for Courtois to join Real Madrid.

Stoke want around £30 million ($38m) for the England international but will only sell as long as they have enough time to sign a replacement themselves.

Red Devils still keen on Spurs star

Manchester United have made a final offer to Tottenham for defender Toby Alderweireld, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Belgium international remains United's top defensive target but the Red Devils are unwilling to pay more than £40 million ($51.7m).

Spurs are holding out for £55m ($71.1m) despite a clause in Alderweireld's contract making him available for £25m ($32.3m) next summer.

Courtois goes AWOL from Chelsea


Goalkeeper keen to move back to Spain

Thibaut Courtois missed Chelsea training on Monday as he looks to force through a move to Real Madrid, Goal can confirm.

The Belgium international was due back at Cobham following his post-World Cup holiday but failed to show in west London.

And though the Blues are willing to sell, they will not let Courtois leave until they sign a replacement.

Paris Saint-Germain have made an enquiry as to the availability of AC Milan defender Ricardo Rodriguez, according to Telefoot.

New PSG boss Thomas Tuchel is keen to bring in a left-back ahead of the closure of the transfer window.

And Rodriguez - who has also been linked with Arsenal - is one of the names on the Ligue 1 champions' shortlist along with Alex Sandro, Wendell and Raphael Guerreiro.

Spurs join race for Rodriguez


Tottenham are the latest club to show an interest in signing West Brom forward Jay Rodriguez, according to the Burnley Express.

Rodriguez's former club Burnley have been looking to re-sign the 29-year-old for much of the summer but have thus far failed to bring him back to Turf Moor.

That has offered hope to Spurs, who join the likes of Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and West Ham in showing an interest in the former Southampton striker.

Arsenal keen to offload Welbeck


Arsenal are keen to offload Danny Welbeck as Unai Emery looks to raise funds late in the transfer window, according to the Evening Standard.

The England international has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium, and Emery now deems him surplus to requirements.

Besiktas have shown an interest, but Welbeck wants to remain in the Premier League with Everton, Bournemouth and Southampton potential suitors.

Leicester City have had a bid for Stoke City forward Mame Biram Diouf rejected, according to The Sun.

The Foxes have been keen on Senegal international Diouf for over a year and a re hopeful of signing him ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline.

But the Potters have turned down the first offer for Diouf from the Premier League outfit as it fell short of their £15 million ($19.4m)) valuation.

Abidal dodges Pogba talk


Barcelona sporting director Eric Abidal refused to entertain speculation regarding further Barcelona signings, including Paul Pogba, at a press conference on Monday.

The Manchester United man has been persistently linked to the Catalan side this summer but a deal does not appear close.

Man Utd could turn to Gimenez in centre-back hunt


Manchester United's latest target in the hunt for a defender could be Atletico Madrid's Jose Gimenez, according to the Independent.

The Uruguay international enjoyed a strong World Cup and has regularly impressed in La Liga.

United are struggling to match Tottenham's valuation of Toby Alderweireld, while Jerome Boateng will be complicated to sign from Bayern Munich given competition from the likes of PSG and Arsenal.

Juventus want Rabiot and Chiesa in 2019


Juventus are already making plans for their transfer market next summer, eyeing PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot and Fiorentina's Federico Chiesa, Tuttosport reports.

Indeed, they could even move for Rabiot sooner, should the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea or Real Madrid move for Miralem Pjanic.

Lyon set to beat West Ham to promising youngster


Lyon are set to beat West Ham to Le Havre youngster Harold Moukoudi, according to France Bleu.

The 20-year-old defender had been expected to join the London side, but instead wants to play in Ligue 1 before moving abroad.

Le Havre, who helped form Paul Pogba and Riyad Mahrez want around €12 million (£10.7m/$13.9m) in the market, although he is a free agent at the end of the season.

Nice, Marseille and Rennes are also monitoring the case.

Willian: Only Barcelona made a summer bid


Chelsea star Willian has revealed that Barcelona made a move for him this summer - but there was no bid from Manchester United.

"The only club I knew that really made an official offer for me was Barcelona," he told ESPN.

The Brazilian is expected to stay at Chelsea, having seemed destined to move earlier this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain have not given up their quest to sign Alex Sandro from Juventus, Tuttosport has revealed.

The Ligue 1 champions are on the hunt for a left-back, but while Real Madrid ace Marcelo is at the top of their list, they are aware he is likely unattainable.

Juan Bernat of Bayern Munich and Chelsea's Emerson Palmieri are other options for the Parisians.

Newcastle close in on Rondon


Newcastle are nearing a deal that will see them sign Salomon Rondon from WBA on loan, the Chronicle reports.

All that is holding up a deal is Dwight Gayle agreeing a moving in the opposite direction. 

Rafa Benitez's side are still hopeful of signing PSG left-back Stanley N'Soki as well as an additional centre-back.

Witsel arrives at Borussia Dortmund


Borussia Dortmund have announced that they have completed the signing of Axel Witsel from Tianjin Quanjian for a reported €20 million (£17.9m/$23m).

"For many months we have been keen to sign Axel Witsel and we are very happy that he has chosen Borussia Dortmund," sporting director Michael Zorc said. "Axel is a player with a great deal of international experience who has all the skills to shape the central BVB midfield: tactical understanding, tackling power, speed, creativity and mentality."

Meanwhile, Witsel said: "After the World Cup, my goal was to move from China back to Europe. I'm totally happy and proud to play for BVB soon. After our first conversation, I did not have to think twice, because for me Borussia Dortmund is one of the best clubs on the continent. Honestly, I can not wait to run aground in front of 81,000 people."

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has told new manager Maurizio Sarri that he wants to be allowed to leave the club, ESPN reports. 

His agent has previously urged the Blues to do business with Real Madrid, who reportedly want him to become their new No.1.

Arsenal are set to do battle with Manchester United to sign Jerome Boateng from Bayern Munich, Kicker believes.

The Bundesliga champions have put a €50m (£44.5m/$58m) price tag on the centre-back, who is also wanted by Paris Saint-Germain.

Fulham poised to complete Chambers loan


Arsenal defender Calum Chambers is set to move to Fulham on loan for the duration of the season, Goal understands.

Chambers signed a new deal with the Gunners in July and the Emirates club do not wish to see him leave for good.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has turned his attention to Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl, according to the Times.

Having missed out on both Fred, who has moved to Manchester United, and Jorginho, who opted for Chelsea, the Catalan wants more competition in the heart of the park for Fernandinho.

The 22-year-old has previously attracted Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois says that he is relaxed regarding links to Real Madrid but that the situation is a delicate one.

Previously, the Belgium international's agent had urged the Blues to sell if a suitable bid was tabled by the Spanish side.

Striker Adam Armstrong has joined Blackburn Rovers on a permanent deal from Newcastle United, the Premier League club have confirmed.

Armstrong scored nine goals in League One last season as Rovers were promoted to the Championship, and has returned to the club for an undisclosed fee.

AC Milan are close to signing Bernard from Shakhtar Donetsk, per Calciomercato.

The Brazilian winger, who has also been linked with Premier League side West Ham, has been the subject of talks between the two clubs, and Milan are prepared to offer him a salary of €3.5 million-per-season (£3.1m/$4m).

Spurs in talks with Villa over Grealish


Steve Bruce has confirmed that Tottenham are in talks with Aston Villa over a move for Jack Grealish ahead of the transfer deadline, per Sky Sports.

Villa are keen to keep their best players and Bruce has reportedly said that the club will not allow Grealish to leave on the cheap, with Spurs the only club in the Premier League yet to make a summer signing.

The clock is ticking, though. The Premier League transfer window closes on August 9 and United will not sell without having a replacement lined up.

While Everton appear to be closing in on the signing of Barcelona defender Yerry Mina, L'Equipe reports that Lyon remain in the hunt.

The French daily has a source close to OL who suggests the Colombia World Cup star would prefer a move to them due to their presence in the Champions League.

Additionally, they are hopeful their good relationship with the Catalans can allow them to pay a smaller fee than the Premier League side.

Tottenham are considering a late bid for Celta Viga midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, according to the Mirror

The 23-year-old Slovakia international impressed in La Liga last season, with Napoli also reportedly keen on signing him.

Lobotka has a £31 million (€35m/$40m) release clause in his contract.

Rodrigo will only leave for €120m, Valencia warn


Valencia have insisted that in-demand forward Rodrigo Moreno will only leave if his €120 million (£107m/$139m) release clause is met.

Mousa Dembele has rejected a £20 million (€22m/$26m) move to Inter, reports the Daily Mail.

The 31-year-old has one year left on his contract, and has been rumoured to be seeking a move away from north London. 

But Dembele has turned down the chance to partner international team-mate Radja Nainggolan in central midfield at San Siro.

Japanese star Keisuke Honda has joined Melbourne Victory of the A-League.

Honda, 32, had been a free agent since departing Mexican club Pachuca.

The former Japan international, who retired from international duty following the World Cup, has also represented CSKA Moscow and AC Milan among others.

Everton have told Manchester United they are interested in Chris Smalling or Victor Lindelof should a deal for Marcos Rojo not materialise, reports TEAMtalk

The Toffees are chasing Rojo, but a host of other clubs have contacted United about signing the 28-year-old.

If they can't land Rojo, Everton would look to sign Smalling on a permanent deal or Lindelof on loan.

Chambers to seal season-long Fulham loan


Arsenal defender Calum Chambers is set for a medical ahead of a season-long loan at Fulham, reports the Daily Mail.

The 23-year-old made 24 appearances for the Gunners last season and signed a new four-year contract in July.

Arzani set for Celtic loan after City switch


Teenage Australia star Daniel Arzani will move on loan to Celtic after completing a transfer from Melbourne City to Manchester City, says the BBC.  

The 19-year-old winger has been tipped as a future star, and impressed for the Socceroos as the youngest player at the World Cup this summer. 

Arzani made 20 appearances last season for Melbourne City, who have the same owners as Man City.

West Ham keen on Arsenal's Perez


West Ham are trying to land Arsenal forward Lucas Perez ahead of Sporting CP, according to the Mirror

Manuel Pellegrini has ruled injury-prone Andy Carroll out of his plans and, while he is interested in Porto forward Moussa Marega, Perez is the primary target, with Porto looking for a big payoff on their 22-goal hitman.
