It was an absolute pleasure bringing you these three Afcon 2019 encounters live on Goal. Until we meet again on Thursday, good night!

FULL-TIME: Egypt 2-0 Congo DR

2019-06-26T21:53:21Z

It's all over in Cairo. The Pharaohs beat Congo DR 2-0 to seal their passage to the knockout stages. Ibenge's charges are on the brink of becoming the first team to crash out from the competition after losing two consecutive games.

BAKAMBU MISSES!

2019-06-26T21:50:15Z

Another attack by Congo DR as Bakambu tries to flick the ball into the back of the net from an attempted cross, but he certainly didn't know too much about it let alone where the goalposts where as he stretched his right leg. The ball eventually goes over the crossbar.

Four minutes of stoppage time

2019-06-26T21:48:44Z

DRC have four minutes to score two goals and rescue a point here. I don't see it happening.

Mo Salah stopped!

2019-06-26T21:46:24Z

Mo Salah does well to bring the ball under control but he is surrounded by two DRC defenders as he approaches the penalty box. He tries to get to his left foot and attempt a curler but he's stopped in his track. Good defending by Ibenge's men.

TOO CLOSE!!

2019-06-26T21:41:15Z

Bolasi curls his powerful free-kick around the wall, but he can't hit the target. DRC coach Ibenge left frustrated on the bench. For a second there, he thought it was in. The scoreline still reads 2-0 to Egypt

FREE-KICK TO DRC

2019-06-26T21:39:26Z

Alaa gets himself booked for a foul on Bolingi. Free-kick to Congo DR in a promising area.

CLOSE!!

2019-06-26T21:33:52Z

A chance for DRC to pull one back as Bolingi powers his header toward goal after outjumping Hegazi, but the referee blows his whistle for a foul. Victor Gomes saw something he doesn't like, but Bolingi feels he did nothing wrong.

The Pharaohs have 10 men behind the ball

2019-06-26T21:29:26Z

The DRC are applying the pressure here, but Egypt are giving little away as they have packed their defence with 10 men. The Egyptian goalkeeper hasn't really been tested thus far, thanks to the back four.

BOLINGI SHOOTS WIDE

2019-06-26T21:24:31Z

A great opportunity is wasted by Bolingi as he decides to use his right foot instead of left from an acute angle. He shoots wide; he doesn't even test the goalkeeper from inside the Egypt box. Very poor decision-making by the lanky striker.

What do fans think of Congo DR?

2019-06-26T21:17:44Z

Congo DR not giving up yet

2019-06-26T21:12:00Z

The men from DRC continue to probe and Meshack has already shown signs of a great player upfront alongside Bolingi. They need more supply in order to hurt Egypt

This is how the first-half ended...

HALF-TIME

2019-06-26T20:47:10Z

Egypt head into the dressing rooms oozing with confidence after two beautiful goals from Elmohamady and Mo Salah. It will take something special from Congo DR to come back from this setback.

GOOOOOOOAAAAALL!!!

2019-06-26T20:43:45Z

Mo Salah finally gets his first Afcon 2019 goal! Trezeguet slips the ball between three DRC defenders to pick up Salah, who turns his marker inside out before curling the ball past Matampi. 2-0 to Egypt

DRC HIT THE WOODWORK

2019-06-26T20:38:58Z

A ball is floated into the Egypt box, and they fail to deal with it properly. Bolingi outjumps his markers to connect with the ball. However, his effort comes off the upright! The DRC is showing no signs of respect for Egypt

MATAMPI DENIES SALAH!!!

2019-06-26T20:31:31Z

The DRC goalkeeper does well to parry Salah's powerful free-kick from outside the box back to play. The left-footed curled the ball around the wall and found the target, but Matampi was well-positioned to make a great block!

SALAH GOES DOWN INSIDE THE BOX

2019-06-26T20:21:54Z

The Liverpool man tries to dribble past a crowd of defenders and he goes down in an attempt to win a penalty, but the referee tells him to dust himself up as he waves play on.

Congo DR taking the game to Egypt

2019-06-26T20:18:56Z

The DRC is taking the game to Egypt in search of an opening goal, but Egypt have been disciplined enough at the back. It has been an interesting 20 minutes at the Cairo International Stadium. The only thing we are waiting for is that first goal.

Kick-off

We are underway at the Cairo International Stadium...

FULL-TIME

2019-06-26T18:51:34Z

It's all over at the Cairo International Stadium. Uganda and Zimbabwe settle for a share of the spoils. It's Uganda 1-1 Zimbabwe.

MUSONA SHOOTS WIDE

2019-06-26T18:48:46Z

A quick counter for Zimbabwe as Musona steals possession on the edge of the box, but instead of passing the ball to his right, the striker takes a shot selfishly. He fires wide of Onyango's goal.

Can anyone score?

2019-06-26T18:46:27Z

CHANCE FOR LUWANGA

2019-06-26T18:38:58Z

The midfielder is afforded acres of space on the edge of Zimbabwe's box, and curls the ball away from Chigova, but his effort shaves the upright on its way out. What a let off!

UGANDA MISS A SITTER!!

2019-06-26T18:32:17Z

The strikers are finding it very difficult to score tonight as Kaddu volleys his effort over the crossbar from inside the small box. Kaddu had one simple job; to guide the ball into an empty net as Chigova was already down.

Will Zimbabwe rue the missed chances?

2019-06-26T18:28:23Z

Zimbabwe should have at least been 4-1 up by now, but they have not been as clinical in front of goal. Will Uganda make them rue these missed chances in the end? Only time will tell. An entertaining encounter so far between the two sides.

HOW DID ONYANGO KEEP IT OUT?

2019-06-26T18:24:48Z

Denis Onyango does well to recover from a Rusike attempt following a cross by Khama Billiat on the right-hand side of the Uganda box. Onyango uses his long arms to prevent the ball from crossing the goal line. What a save! Uganda 1-1 Zimbabwe.

Head-to-head: Uganda v Zimbabwe

2019-06-26T18:19:48Z

Uganda and Zimbabwe have met 15 times in the past. The Warriors won five to Uganda's only two while the other eight matches ended in draws.

HOW DO YOU MISS THAT?

2019-06-26T18:08:30Z

Knowledge Musona squanders another opportunity to bury Uganda as he slams his attempt against the crossbar from close range with no goalkeeper in front of him. An empty in front of him but Musona fails to convert after a cross from Hadebe. What a miss!

Second-half kicks off

2019-06-26T18:02:29Z

We are back underway...

GOOOOOOAAAAALLLL!!!

2019-06-26T17:41:15Z

ZImbabwe hit back! Khama Billiat finds the back of the net with a sublime finish to make it 1-1. This is a good team goal. Musona chests the ball for Karuru, who finds Billiat, and the Kaizer Chiefs man doesn't make a mistake from close. Game on!

MUSONA WITH GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY!

2019-06-26T17:23:43Z

How on Earth did Musona miss that? The Anderlecht striker does well to eliminate his marker, and he's now facing Onyango, but he blasts his effort well over the crossbar from inside the box. What a glorious chance for Zimbabwe to level matters!

UNSELFISH BILLIAT WASTES ANOTHER CHANCE

2019-06-26T17:21:01Z

Another chance to test Onyango, but Billiat opts to play Karuru through instead. The Kaizer Chiefs talisman needs to take a little bit of responsibility, especially from outside the box. He should know Onyango's weaknesses by now, and Zimbabwe need him more.

OPPORTUNITY ZIMBABWE

2019-06-26T17:18:59Z

Khama Billiat whips a decent cross into the Ugandan box, but he overcooks it and Ovidy Karuru can't get there. Perhaps, Billiat should have gone for goal.

Uganda show defensive discipline

2019-06-26T17:16:52Z

The Cranes have done well in terms of playing on the high line. Zimbabwe have not been able to time their runs so far, and they have been caught offside more in the opening 15 minutes.

GOOOOOOOOAAAAALLLL!!!!

2019-06-26T17:11:35Z

Uganda break the deadlock through Okwi, who taps the ball into the back from the rebound. 1-0 to Uganda. Djamal did well to play a low cross into  the box, and Chigova parried the ball onto the path of Emmanuel Okwi, who needed a touch to guide it in.

FULL-TIME

2019-06-26T16:19:50Z

It's all over! The Super Eagles of Nigeria claim a hard-fought victory over Guinea. They are through to the knockout stages of Afcon 2019.

Man of the match: Omerou

2019-06-26T16:15:59Z

We've just heard that our man of the match for this encounter is Nigeria's Omeruo, probably because he scored the only goal of this match. Congratulations to him in advance.

Five minutes to go...

2019-06-26T16:12:51Z

Five minutes of regulation time to go before the end encounter. Nigeria will be looking to hold on to their lead, while Guinea need to at least rescue a point here.

Nigeria on the brink of Afcon knockout stages

2019-06-26T16:07:04Z

As things stand, the Super Eagles are on their way to the knockout stages. They would be the first team to make it through with six points. Now the pressure is on Guinea to make it count.

GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLL!!!

2019-06-26T16:00:35Z

The Super Eagles finally break the deadlock! A powerful header by Omeruo after a great cross was played into the box. 1-0 to Nigeria.

ETEBO WITH A FREE-KICK

2019-06-26T15:55:35Z

Nigeria win a free-kick outside the box, and Etebo steps up to take the free-kick. He curls it around the wall, but the goalkeeper does well to punch the ball away from danger.

AHMED MUSA ATTACKS!!!

2019-06-26T15:47:47Z

The Nigerian captain beats his markers for pace from inside his own half, and he storms into the Guinea box from the left-hand side. However, his attempted pass to Ighalo is blocked before Guinea clear their lines.

Head-to-head: Nigeria v Guinea

2019-06-26T15:36:22Z

Nigeria and Guinea have met 17 times in the past. The Super Eagles won five to Guinea's five while the other seven matches ended in draws.

HALF-TIME

2019-06-26T15:17:29Z

We have come to the end of the first 45 minutes. Nigeria and Guinea head into dressing rooms locked at 0-0. The Super Eagles created too many good chances, including that of Ighalo, but they were unable to convert them into goals.

Fans react to Ighalo's chance

2019-06-26T15:08:20Z

SELFISH IGHALO WASTES A GLORIOUS CHANCE

2019-06-26T15:02:19Z

Ighalo does well to beat the offside trap on the far side, and after entering the Guinea box, instead of crossing the ball to Musa, he opts to take a shot which goes wide. Poor decision-making by Ighalo.

CLOSE!!

2019-06-26T14:53:14Z

Guinea midfielder Kamano takes a great free-kick from outside the box, but it sails inches over the crossbar although Akpeyi looked to have had the situation under control. It remains goalless in Alexandria.

IWOBI TAKES TOO LONG!!

2019-06-26T14:43:36Z

Alex Iwobi receives possession after a brilliant Ahmed Musa pass, and the former enters the Guinea penalty box from the left-hand side, but Seka does well to play the ball to safety. Iwobi took way too long to release the ball or even take a shot from that position.

CHANCE FOR GUINEA!!

2019-06-26T14:40:53Z

A defence-splitting pass by Naby Keita and Sory Kaba races through on goal. However, the Nigerian defence recovers and clears the ball off the striker's feet. A high-tempo game so far with both sides showing no signs of respect to one another.

What a win would mean for Nigeria

2019-06-26T14:37:51Z

The Super Eagles would become the first nation to qualify for the knockout stages if they beat Guinea this afternoon. Guinea need to win after drawing 2-2 against Madagascar in their opening match of the campaign.
