Kimanzi: Mathare United were lucky against AFC Leopards

Relegation-threatened Mathare United drew 0-0 with AFC Leopards in a Kenyan Premier League match last Wednesday.

It was a fifth consecutive draw for the two teams, and a second barren draw in as many matches involving the two sides. But it was AFC Leopards, who had several clear-cut opportunities to win the match.

The ‘slum boys’ head coach Francis Kimanzi says his side is fortunate to have gotten a point.

"We were not really at our best, they (Leopards), could have grabbed maximum points. We had a slow start and that exposed us, but again getting a point after losing three matches is a positive to us and we need to build on this and ensure we get something in our next match."
