Kaizer Chiefs striker Lebogang Manyama is hoping to improve as the season progresses following a slow start to life at Naturena-based side.
The 28-year-old player revealed his love for the Glamour Boys ahead of the team's clash with SuperSport United in a Premier Soccer League (PSL) match on Wednesday night.
“I grew up supporting Kaizer Chiefs, they are in my heart and that is why I did not hesitate when an opportunity to join a new club came,” Manyama said to Isolezwe.
Manyama has played in six matches and scored once in all competitions for the Soweto giants and he will hope to impress new coach Ernst Middendorp, who recently replaced Giovanni Solinas.
“Looking at the way I started at Chiefs, it is not how I expected to start, but that is life and we can't predict it,” he added.
Coming to their next encounter against coach Kaitano Tembo's men at Mbombela Stadium, the skilful attacker said they expect a thrilling encounter against Amatsatsantsa A Pitori.
The two PSL giants will meet for the fourth time this season in all competitions, Chiefs drew and lost in the two legged MTN8 Cup semi-final, but clinched a win in the Telkom Knockout Cup quarter-final.
“SuperSport is not a club where you can easily to beat or penetrate. We have to play and work hard because we have lost vital points in our past few games,” he continued.
“We have to focus on good things that we have achieved as a club and forget about the bad experiences we have had so far because we have to finish 2018 on a high,” he concluded.
Moreover, Chiefs are fresh from a 2-1 loss to Golden Arrows in their previous league match and will want to return to winning ways on Wednesday night.
