Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Joseph Molangoane has no problem playing as a fullback after coach Steve Komphela requested him to do so, in light of injuries to key players in that position.

“We had injuries and the coach called me to ask if I would play right-back, I said ‘Yes, I don’t have a problem, just give me instructions on what I should do,” Molangoane told the Sowetan.

The imminent return of Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Kgotso Moleko does not bother Molangoane that he may be dropped once again.

He found it hard to get his first start, missing the club’s opening matches that saw the team go out in the first hurdle of the MTN8 to SuperSport United.

“It happens that you get selected for certain games. I was ready, always there, waiting for the opportunity.

“That’s why when it came, I made use of it. I had to work twice as much to get my spot back,” Molangoane, famously known as ‘Tight’ stated.

Amakhosi travel to Bidvest Wits in Saturday’s Telkom Knockout semi-final showdown that promises to light up at the Bidvest Stadium.

“As a team we respect Wits. They are the champions at the end of the day and they will come to show that they want to win this trophy as much as we do,” Molangoane said.
