Kerala Blasters vs Mumbai City ISL 2018/19

ISL 2018-19: Jorge Costa - Mumbai City have improved a lot

Mumbai City held Bengaluru FC to a 1-1 draw on Sunday at the Kanteerava Stadium and extended their unbeaten streak to seven games in the Indian Super League (ISL).

The Islanders have climbed to the second spot with 21 points from 11 matches. Modou Sougou scored the visitors' goal after Udanta Singh gave hosts the lead.

"We didn’t have much of the ball and we started to play well after their goal.  We got a goal and played well. I told the players at the break that we should go back home with three points. Then we had to play with 10 men and it's different.

" We tried and had a few chances but I’m happy with the players and their effort. This is a very important point and we are still among the top, but I think we deserve more, for the players' hard work," Mumbai City head coach Jorge Costa said after the match.

Mumbai's last defeat was at the hands of FC Goa and much has changed since then. "We needed time to work and Mumbai City are a much better team that at the beginning of the season. Sometimes we don't play well but we put up a fight."

The coach also added that Subhasish Bose's skills are best utilized at left-back. "At the beginning of the season, Bose was my first option at left back. But he had to play one or two games as a centre-back because of injuries. But now he will be my first option at left back.  He has a different role in the national team but I think he is much better at left back."
