SuperSport United recently confirmed that they would not be retaining the services of central defender Mario Booysen.

The 28-year-old is on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns but spent the 2016/2017 Premier Soccer League (PSL) campaign out on loan at Masandawana’s cross-town rivals.

However, despite Booysen set to return to Chloorkop, the lanky defender admits uncertainty regarding his immediate future.

The former Ajax Cape Town player is currently on international duty, having been given the honour of captaining the South African national team in their African Nations Championship (Chan) qualifier against Botswana, and he has revealed that a decision on his future with the Tshwane giants will be made in the coming weeks.

“I am looking forward to the new 2017/18 campaign. Winning yet another Nedbank Cup with SuperSport United was very important for my career and my progress as a professional footballer,” Booysen told the media.

“I don’t know yet whether or not I will be playing for Mamelodi Sundowns in the new season. I am still contracted to the club, but whatever decision is made by management in the coming weeks, whether I am sent out on loan again or not, I will continue to work hard and give 100 percent,” he concluded.
