Harambee Starlets will have to win all their remaining two matches to have a realistic chance of progressing to the next stage of the Cecafa Women’s Champions.
Starlets dropped two crucial points after settling for a 1-1 draw with Tanzania in the second match on Saturday.
Kenya lost the opening match to Uganda by a solitary goal and they needed to bounce back with at least a victory against the defending champions.
That, however, never came to pass, when David Ouma once again dropped points in the five-nation championship that kicked off on Thursday in Kigali, Rwanda.
Kenya came from a goal down to force a draw with the side that denied them the regional trophy in Uganda two years ago.
Tanzania was the first side to ink their name on the scoresheet courtesy of Daniel Donisia with a well-curled shot in the 13th minute.
The lead, however, lasted seven minutes before Mwanahalima Adam’s notched an equalizer straight from a corner kick.
Starlets efforts to snatch a winning goal failed to bear fruits, with the defending champions holding tight to see both sides come out with a share of the spoils.
Kenya will take on Ethiopia on Wednesday before wrapping up the five-nation tourney against hosts Rwanda on Friday.
Starting XI: Poline Atieno, Lilian Adera, Dorcas Shikobe, Elizabeth Ambogo, Vivian Nasaka, Ruth Ingosi, Cynthia Shilwatso, Mercy Achieng, Mwanahalima Adam, Neddy Atieno, Esse Akida.
