Goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch is set to miss the weekend' Kenyan Premier League top-of-the-bill clash between leaders Gor Mahia and second-placed Mathare United on Sunday.

Oluoch picked a straight red card in Gor Mahia’s draw against Chemelil Sugar on Wednesday after he handled the ball outside the box.

The league leaders blew away a two-goal advantage to allow Chemelil Sugar pick a point from K'Ogalo in a midweek match staged at the Kericho Green Stadium on Wednesday.

Coach Dylan Kerr has termed the red card as a 'major blow' to his quest in retaining the league even as Gor Mahia prepares for the Caf Confederation Cup group stages match against Rayon Sports on Rwanda.

“The red card was a blow to us,” the former England professional said.

Kerr was equally disappointed by the wasted chances that went begging, especially in the second half.

“We should have killed the game in the first half. We had several chances to score more goals, but we wasted even opportunities in the second half."

Gor Mahia will take on Mathare United in a game they need to win to consolidate their lead at the top.
