Gor Mahia Coach Dylan Kerr will have to do without the services of Meddie Kagere in the Caf Confederation Cup against USM Alger on Wednesday.
Kagere picked a second yellow card in the Group D opening match against Rayon Sports away in Rwanda.
The dependable striker, who picked his first card of the competition in a Caf Champions League match against Esperance, is ineligible to play in the crucial home game.
This means that Coach Kerr will have to use either Ivorian Ephraim Guikan or Kevin Omondi to partner Jacques Tuyisenge upfront.
“Kagere Meddie is automatically suspended for his next Match .124 Gor Mahia FC [Kenya] vs. U.S.M Alger [Algeria], Please take note that the sanction(s) has (have) been registered by Caf disciplinary Board,’ the continental body said in a statement.
Kerr will also be concerned with the fitness level of captain Haron Shakava, who appeared to have picked an injury in an international friendly against Hull City on Sunday.
Gor Mahia lost to Hull City Tigers 4-3 on post match penalties after both sides had settled to a 0-0 draw in normal time.
