The Phobians and the Porcupine Warriors have their job cut out, having been paired with Division One sides in the last eight of the cup competition

While Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko will both be in action, it is Wa All Stars’ clash with Berekum Chelsea that headlines the quarter-final fixtures of the 2017 Ghana FA Cup following the draw on Tuesday.

Not only do both teams play in the elite division but also sit just a place and a point above each other on the league table.

Reigning Ghana Premier League champions All Stars, who sit top of the two on the ninth position, beat lower tier side Samartex 2-1 in the last 16 whereas Chelsea thrashed fellow top tier side Bechem United 4-0.

In other games, Hearts of Oak will be favourites when they lock horns with Divison One club Danbort. The Phobians picked a slim 1-0 triumph over Young Wise FC to reach the quarter-finals. Danbort, on the other hand, beat top tier side Liberty Professionals 9-8 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.

Asante Kotoko, 2014 champions, will similarly face Division One outfit NEA Salamina for a ticket to the last four. The Porcupine Warriors handed Wassaman United a 1-0 defeat in the previous round while Salamina emerged 2-0 victors over fellow lower division team Steadfast FC.

Medeama, meanwhile, will hope to beat Division One club Amidaus Professionals to draw closer to making it a hat-trick of FA Cup titles after victories in 2013 and 2015. The Yellow and Mauves beat Elmina Sharks 1-0 in the round of 16 as Amidaus stunned current Premier League leaders Wafa 1-0.

The quarter-final matches will come off on July 29 and 30.
