Nine-man Cairns FC complete miracle FFA Cup comeback

Two goals and two players down with one minute to go, Cairns FC produced one of the great football comebacks in the FFA Cup on Wednesday night as they downed the Southside Comets 4-3.
Leading 2-0 in injury time and with Cairns shown two late red cards, the Comets were close to celebrating an upset when Jamie Carroll stepped up.
A long-range strike from the Cairns player early in injury time was then followed up by a successful free-kick with the final play of the game to force the match to extra time.

Though with two less men on the pitch, Cairns had all the momentum with Joshua Taylor striking twice in extra time and the Comets getting a late consolation to seal an incredible 4-3 win.
“I’ll remember this for a long time,” Taylor told Seven News after the match.
Comets coach Dion Readman on the other hand was speechless at full-time and revealed a cruelly timed text message he won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
“What can you say,” Readman said.
"There’s a bloke I’m going to punch for this…sends me a text ‘Congratulations, well done’ at 9.23.”
