Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis couldn't grace the awards show because she is in Ghana to prepare her team for the Awcon.
Also on Sunday South Africa played Ghana in a preparation match for the tournament at the Accra Sports Stadium, which will host the final.
As reported by Safa, Ellis stated that the match was a worthwhile exercise and gave Banyana enough food for thought ahead of the start of the tournament on Saturday.
South Africa lost 1-0 to the Black Queens of Ghana in what was the last warm up match for both sides ahead of the competition.
