Skipper Janine Van Wyk allowed Refiloe Jane the opportunity to captain Banyana Banyana in order to mark her 100th cap for the team.
You can watch a video of the South African ladies team making their way onto the field led by Jane, before drawing 2-2 against the European nation.
Bafana Bafana star Itumuleng Khune was one of South Africa's iconic players paying tribute to Jane on social media.
The Canberra United midfielder made her Banyana Banyana debut in March 2012 in the Cyprus Women’s Cup, playing against Northern Ireland.
She has already scored 12 goals for South Africa – the first coming against Botswana in an international friendly match in 2012.
