Enyimba coach, Usman Abdallah has warned his players that Djoliba Athletic Club are a more improved side than the one they defeated in Calabar on match-day one of the Caf Confederation Cup group stages.
The People’s Elephant defeated the Malian side 2-0 through the goals of Stanley Dimgba and Chinonso Okonkwo at the U.J Esuene Stadium, Calabar but Abdallah has told his players that Djoliba won’t take it lightly this term in the return leg tie on Sunday in Bamako.
“I must state that with what I have seen of the Malians they are a very difficult side and they have improved a lot from the team we played and beat some months ago,” Abdallah told Goal.
“I have watched some of their video clips after then and I must admit that they have improved tremendously. I watched their last game against CARA and they played very well. We are not going for a charity game and we must step up our game.
“We can beat any team if we are serious. I know that we have done our best in terms of preparations. We want the players to do their own part my playing with so much flair and professionalism so that we can get our target.”
Abdallah also noted that he is keeping his eye glued on the other game in Brazzaville where CARA will be hosting group leaders, Williamsville.
“We shall be monitoring proceedings from the other game in Brazzaville also knowing that if the Ivorien are able to get a result there it will be good for us,” he added.
“We are going to concentrate on our own result first but it is not out of place to keep an eye on others in our group. We are going to fight until the end to ensure that we progress to the next round.”
