Enyimba must replicate scoring form to defeat Raja Casablanca - Victor Ezeji

The veteran forward feels the team can progress to the final if they repeat their goalscoring form against the Moroccans next month

Victor Ezeji believes Enyimba can reach the final if they take their goalscoring form against Rayon Sports into the Caf Confederation Cup semi-final clash with Raja Casablanca next month.

The People Elephants secured their biggest win in the competition after putting five past the Rwandans in Aba to earn a 5-1 aggregate win and sealed a semi-final date with the Moroccans.

Ezeji is pleased with Enyimba's scoring feat and has urged Usman Abdullah’s men to replicate it to boost their chances of progressing against the north Africans.

“I was really proud of the team for the wonderful performance they put up against Rayon Sports,” Ezeji told Goal.

“I have criticised them a lot, especially because of their inability to get forward and get as many goals as possible. I feel they do not attack with the same strength they use in defending but their performance against Rayon silenced me.

“I believe they have what it takes to go through to the semi-final. Back in 2005, we meet Raja Casablanca and defeated them. If they can replicate their goalscoring form against Raja, they can beat them and reach the semi-final. It is achievable!

“I will just appeal to them to maintain their good form, especially in the defence and midfield and as well improve on their goalscoring. Imagine, if Enyimba can score like five goals at home, it will ease their worries in the return leg.”
