Edward Manoah leads mass exodus at Vihiga United

Edward Manoah has parted ways with Kenyan Premier League side Vihiga United.

Manoah was relegated to a less prestigious-Technical Director's role, following the arrival of Mike Mururi last June. But the former head coach, who helped Vihiga United gain promotion to the Kenyan Premier League has since ditched the club.

"The club's technical director, Edward Manoah, has also left the team," Vihiga United confirmed in a statement.

Vihiga also lost 10 players including, Charles Okwemba, Vitalis Akumu, Morven Otinya and Jonathan Mugabi. The club, meanwhile, have signed six as replacements as they prepare to host Ulinzi Stars in the opening Kenyan Premier League match.

Vihiga will host the Soldiers on Sunday at the Mumias Complex for their first match of the 2018/19. Vihiga United have signed utility players Smith Ogutu and Collins Kisuya while at the same time, the side has parted ways with 10 players.

Released players: Charles Okwemba, Ben Ogot, Jonathan Mugabi, Silicho Soita, Barnabas Tiema, Vincent Kagasi, Vitalis Akumu, Morven Otinya, Kevin Mugone, Ali Kesi.

New players: Collins Kisuya (Left fullback), Smith Ogutu (Utility defender), Timothy Luda (offensive midfielder), Rashid Kyambade (Striker), Mike Matasio (Goalkeeper), Alex Imbusi (attacking midfielder)
