Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr once again made a wholesale of changes in the third round of the Shield Cup, but still managed to qualify for the quarter-finals.

A brace from Kevin Omondi and a late goal from Samuel Onyango was enough to reduce Kennedy Onyango's strike to a mere consolation. Kerr says he had to instill confidence to his players and ensure they give their best.

“It was not going to be an easy match, but I have the team capable of doing the business. There is losing and winning in a game, I am not a loser, I love winning because I am a winner and that is what I try to instill in my players, that winning mentality.

“The fans have been supportive, and I appreciate their input to the team, there motivation keeps us on toes,” Kerr told Goal.

Gor will now face Kariobangi Sharks in the quarters while defending champions AFC Leopards will be up against Kenya Police.

In other matches, Tusker will face Sofapaka and Ulinzi Stars take on River Plate.
