The Senegalese journeyman could be on the move once again, this time to southwestern Europe

Newly promoted Primeira Liga outfit Desportivo Aves are being linked with a loan move for former Chelsea forward Demba Ba.

The well-travelled talisman is expected to link up with Aves ahead of their first season back in the Portuguese top flight.

After making a successful recovery from his horrific leg break- suffered in July 2016, the Senegalese rejoined Besiktas on a loan move from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua in January.

He made two appearances and scored one goal as the club lifted the Turkish Super Lig title.

Portuguese publication Ojogo reports that there is already an established link between Shenhua and Desportivo. The two clubs have a partnership in place which will see an academy built in Portugal for Chinese footballers.

It is through this link that Ba could be destined for Portugal, local media reports suggest.

However, the Turkish sports website Fanatik is reporting that the Black Eagles want to keep Ba for another season as they do not want to pay Porto €10 million for Vincent Aboubakar, who was also on loan during the 2016/17 campaign. If true, there will be no shortage of suitors for the Cameroonian who enjoyed an impressive campaign under Senol Gunes.
