Daniel Arzani scores first goal for Celtic with fantastic free-kick

Socceroos teenager Daniel Arzani has netted his first goal for Celtic after curling in a free-kick for the club's academy side.

Arzani's strike came after 33 minutes with the 19-year-old picking his spot from just outside the box.

Not only did Arzani get on the score sheet, he also played the full 90 minutes in a 2-0 win over Aberdeen.

Fitness has been one issue for Arzani as he looks to make the jump up to regular senior football.

Despite the extra minutes, the attacker impressed throughout, asking questions of Aberdeen's defence.

This was Arzani's second appearance for the academy side with the Aussie yet to feature for the first team.

Celtic coach Brendan Rodgers has urged patience with Arzani as he looks to ease him into his squad.

"Daniel hasn’t played 90 minutes of football, here or in Australia,” Rodgers said over the weekend.

"This is a young player who burst onto the scene back home and is regarded as a talent. But he is very new into his life as a professional and has just been with us for three weeks.

"It’s the adaptation to a new country, new club, new football. It’s just time, he’s a talented young player and the idea with a talented young player is to go from a talent to a professional."

The Socceroos winger will spend two years on loan with the Hoops from Manchester City after catching the eye at the 2018 World Cup.

Arzani was a surprise omission from Celtic's Europe League squad last week, but could be added to the side after the group stages.
