Cuadrado planning Juventus stay alongside ‘very special’ Ronaldo

Juan Cuadrado is thinking “only of Juventus” as he seeks to bring an end to unwelcome transfer talk and revel in a role alongside “very special” Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Colombia international has found himself at the centre of exit speculation during recent windows at the Allianz Stadium.

He has proven to be a useful option within a star-studded squad since bringing a forgettable stint at Chelsea to a close and turning an initial loan spell in Turin into a permanent switch.

The 30-year-old continues to see his future called into question, though, despite having a contract through to 2020.

Cuadrado is eager to quash the rumours, with his focus locked on doing the best he can for club and country in 2018-19.

He told Marca when quizzed on his future: “I think only of Juventus and to reach the goals we have set ourselves, to arrive in March and to be in a race on all fronts.

“Then there will be the Copa America, it will be a great opportunity to win something with Colombia.”

Juve are expected to challenge on multiple fronts this term, with an unbeaten start in Serie A allowing them to cement domestic dominance while also chasing a last-16 spot in the Champions League.

Cuadrado added: “We can win everything, yes, we have a great team, but we have to be very calm because the competition is tough, we have to keep our feet on the ground, work and put everything in the hands of God and we will see the reward.”

The signing of five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo should aid Juve’s cause, with the Portuguese accustomed to competing for the grandest of prizes.

Cuadrado, who gave up the No. 7 jersey over the summer to help accommodate a new arrival, believes the rest of the Juve can learn a lot from Ronaldo's presence, both on and off the field.

He said: “We all know that Ronaldo is a very special person, very kind and very professional, every day I learn something more about him, his hunger to win and to achieve his goals.

“It is a privilege to have him as a team-mate because he was and is a great player, who won everything thanks to the work he did.”
