Champions League draw: Primeiro de Agosto face TP Mazembe in quarter-finals

While two Tunisian sides face off in an enthralling tie, the Angolans will slug it out against the five-time African champions

Primeiro de Agosto have been drawn to face TP Mazembe in the Caf Champions League quarter-finals.

The Angolans - 2017 Girabola champions – finished in second place behind Etoile du Sahel in Group and will surely have their hands full against the five times African kings.

Meanwhile, two-time Esperance de Tunis have been tasked with a clash against cross-city rivals and 2007 champions Esperance – while ES Setif will tackle Wydad Casablanca.

And Horoya’s reward for ousting Mamelodi Sundowns is a meeting with the competition’s most successful club Al Ahly.

All the first leg encounters will be played between September 14-15 while the return leg will be held seven days later. Winners of the 2018 Champions League will qualify as the Caf representative at the 2018 Fifa Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
